Stormtrooper squads by Durnstaros Stormtrooper squads by Durnstaros
All twenty of my stormtroopers, elite troops from the Ylmaharian trench legions. Meant to assault or infiltrate enemy lines, they have the best guns and armour.

These are built from bits I found all over the place, not sure I could make more today. Based around a medieval Man-at-arms body and a pewter head with gasmask, but other than that they are pretty much individually assembled/crafted and painted, and all are named.

The Men-At-Arms, yes. The archers are smaller and posed to shoot sideways.

The heads are from Pig Iron Productions, and the bodies are Bretonnian men at arms, as it says in the description.

Actually they're from Pig Iron Productions, a set of heads for their colony militia.

That would be my second guess.

Awesome models by the way, I think i'm going to steal your idea of using Men-at-arms bodies, but use the FW renegade weapon arms instead of lasguns. I've been wanting to do a WWI British theme but my original idea didn't look very guard-y.

I won't outright steal your designs, i'm not good enough for that. C:

Go right ahead and steal them, I'm far from the original inventor of this combination, I've just been refining the design a bit. :)

These are simply amazing! You must have gone through hell for the bits(or have quite an extensive collection). Plus the paint job is great! Mannerheim's gun looks fantastic! What parts did you use? For the rest of the minis too?

I do indeed have quite an extensive collection, but I should also thank the model club bitz box for its generous contribution.
The heads are pewter heads ordered from PigIron productions and they really make the models stand out. I added a small antenna to each head.
The bodies are bretonnian men at arms with cadian arms, a common combination by now, but with cadian boots sawn off and attached to them as well. Yes, I've hacked apart quite a few luckless cadians.
Mannerheims gun is supposed to be a stand-in plasma (might convert my other plasmas to look like this) and is a cut down lasgun with a necron gauss muzzle on the end plus some extra plastic rods along the sides.
Of note is that all the square sights are the sights from the heavy weapon squads, which thank to a fellow guard player with a giant wallet, I have plenty of bitz from.
Thanks for the comment!

That is the most amazing squad of Stormies I have seen. What colors did you use for the green?

The metal green for guns, helmets, shoulder pads and such is just Knarloc Green with a gretchin green highlight, and all cloth is catachan green with a bleached bone highlight (that does indeed work).

And thanks! I rather like them too, but I've been getting more praise for these things than I thought possible!

You'll enjoy the fact that I intend to keep going then, I got several heavy weapon teams and normal infantry platoons that I will paint to the same standard before posting them here.
And thanks again

It was sort of hard to come up with twenty names with a similar theme, yes. And thank you, I consider them a nice addition to my collection.
